Over the last few months all of us have heard about the ‘Karen’ meme… Some of us may even have used it.

But according to a new report today suggests that it is having a lasting impact on people with the name.

The report from online casino PlayOJO found that 62 per cent of Brits associated the name Karen with negative personality traits such as entitlement, obnoxiousness, demanding, privileged and moany.

It went on to find that almost one in five 16-24-year olds in the UK would feel uneasy about entering into a relationship if their partner’s mother was called Karen.

It is not just the children of the digital age who have been impacted by this, as almost two thirds (60 per cent) of 40-54-year olds claim they would avoid naming a child Karen, due to the negative connotations that currently surround the name.
