Local communities celebrating The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee

This June, Her Majesty The Queen will become the first British Monarch to celebrate a Platinum Jubilee after 70 years of service.

With the upcoming milestone just six weeks away, Thursday 5th May is the day to get your invites out with 41% of Brits planning to send out their invitations one month before the bank holiday weekend, according to the neighbourhood network, Nextdoor.

When it comes to those who are celebrating, people aged 18-24 (78%) are most likely to host an event whereas people aged 35 and above would prefer to leave the hosting to another and attend a themed event instead.

However, 47% are unaware of any Platinum Jubilee events happening local to them but a Jubilee Events Map has been launched. The map has been created to help connect the nation with their local communities and to mark Nextdoor’s partnership with The Big Lunch
