New cookbook tackling food cravings
From Dry January to Veganuary, the first month of the year can be the clean slate or kick start we all need for our health, but it can also be overwhelming.
New research reveals that January resolutions start to crack far earlier than we admit. Almost a quarter (23%) say the second and third week of January is when healthy eating or weight-related goals become hard to stick to, while 28% say “food noise” – the constant mental chatter around food, cravings and guilt – becomes louder by mid to late January.
The data from Numan suggests that food noise is loudest when energy is low and pressure is high. A third (33%) say tiredness or low energy is what most often causes their healthy resolutions to break down, while stress and emotional load also play a major role, with almost three in ten (29%) saying this is when their intentions slip.
