Parents urged to make do and mend with school uniform

Next week is typically the biggest period for buying school uniforms but a warning comes out today encouraging parents to make do and mend and check before they buy as there are some very simple things we can do to save uniforms and more importantly, cash.

New data from Start-Rite Shoes shows that three-quarters of British parents only ever buy new when with a few simple tricks, uniforms can last the whole school year.

At present, only 25% ever really consider making do and mending. But in a cost-of-living crisis – we need to rethink how we approach this.
