Pets on the move this festive season

Almost two thirds (64 per cent) of pet owners would rather stay at home at Christmas than leave their four-legged friends behind, according to new research out today.

Nearly half (45 per cent) of the 2,000 pet parents polled have already turned down Christmas events or stays where their furry family members were not invited.

According to the findings, a whopping 12 million pets will be on the move over the festive season, each clocking up an average of 105 miles in travel.

With over half (51 per cent) of pet parents admitting they are gearing up for the most social Christmas they’ve had in years, pet food brand Lily’s Kitchen has joined forces with Great Western Railway (GWR) to launch the Santa Paws Express.
