Political Panel – July 2026

It’s our second political panel with guests, Former Labour Councillor Aidan McGurran and Political Commentator Charlie Sansom.

The topics for discussion this time: the resignation of Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer, his popularity, and how it filters down to the doorsteps of residents in Basildon. An internal petition to oust Basildon (Reform) Mayor, Cllr Sam Journet. There is also a lively debate about Essex County Council proposals to scrap all of its net zero projects.
