Spring Statement & Lower Thames Crossing

There has been a critical response to the Government’s decision on Tuesday 25th March to greenlight the Lower Thames Crossing project.

Opponents to the scheme which has risen from an estimated £5.3 billion, to as high as £16 billion, say the new road which is hoped will ease congestion at the current Dartford Crossing will blight lives, and cause more pollution in an area of Thurrock already known as ‘The Toxic Triangle.
