The burden of running a business

Nearly half of small business owners feel they have “nobody to confide in” about stress and problems, leaving 44% unable to do the best possible job for them and their staff.

Two in three avoid discussing worries with friends and family because they don’t want to worry them, while nearly half (48%) find it hard to know who they can talk to.

The research by AXA shows that the cost-of-living crisis (45%), finding new customers (37%) and inflations (35%) are at the top of the list currently stressing out SME owners.

Ros spoke to Charlotte Yau, small business owner and founder of Muihood and Deepak Soni, AXA UK’s director of SME business.
