The science of coffee

Coffee is much more than a mere pick-me-up; it really does possess the power to shape our emotions.

That’s according to new research which reveals that 50% of adults credit coffee with significantly influencing their emotional state. For younger adults, the figure rises to an astonishing 70%.

Before, coffee respondents felt tired (29%), grumpy (11%) & irritable (9%). After a cuppa, the dominant feelings were relaxation (23%), focus (21%) & energy (20%).

The research launched today by Artisan Coffee Co., is led by Ashley Palmer-Watts who left his role with Heston Blumenthal and the Fat Duck Group to launch the company. Ashley understands the significance of taste and the importance of tuning into our preferences at different times of the day. They champion the revelation of how flavour intricacies impact our moods, offering an enriching sensory journey.
