UK charity starts World’s first Menopause-Cancer link awareness day

World Menopause and Cancer Awareness Day 2025 will, for the first time, spotlight an overlooked issue in cancer care: the impact of treatment in triggering sudden menopause.

New research from the non-profit Menopause and Cancer, founded by survivor and advocate Dani Binnington, reveals that patients are being left without support. 

A survey of more than 1,200 survivors, analysed by UCLH menopause specialist Dr Vikram Talaulikar, found that more than 90% were given no plan to manage treatment-induced menopause, only 1% had a clear pathway, and three quarters received little to no information on how treatment could affect hormone health or fertility.
