Forget Never shows their project in Parliament

Members of the Forget Never Sacrifice & Legacy team were invited to Parliament to show their project to invited guests and MP’s. It was the projects final event and there were some very impressed guests in attendence.

Stephen Metcalfe MP and Patron of the project was joined by Mark Francois MP, Danny Lawrence, Deputy Mayor of Basildon, Laurent Guillaume, Deputy Mayor of Meaux (Basildon’s Twin Town),Colonel Iain MacDonald, Head of Essex Army Cadets, Philip Venning from the Heritage Lottery Fund, who sponsored the project, Rowley Gregg from the There but not There Campaign, Richard Dunning, owner of the Lochnagar Crater in The Somme, Head Teachers and students from Vange Primary School, Woodlands School and Beauchamps School, Basildon Navy Cadets and Army Cadets.

The students and cadets talked to the guests about what the project has meant to them and what their schools have been involved with as well as their trips to the battlefields and cemetaries in France and Belgium. 

The unique part of this project has been the involvement of the twin towns of Basildon in Germany & France, which was recognised by the invited guests.
