Essex has been paying tribute to the comedian, Johnny Clark, who died yesterday after contracting Covid-19.
Johnny was the host at Canvey Island’s Kings Club in the 1980s and , best known across UK as an entertainer.
Danny Lawrence, Gateway 97.8 Director, knew Johnny very well. He said:
“John was a life-long friend and we did a show on gateway about his career in 2012.
He gave me my break 40 years ago and we have remained friends ever since. He helped so many, he was a real showbiz legend!”
Our thoughts are with Johnny’s family and friends at this difficult time.
