What a lovely Autumn we’ve had so far ! There’s only been one Saturday since the start of August when I’ve been able to resist the sunshine and the warm weather and decide to stay indoors instead of going to football somewhere – and that was last week when the heavens seemed to open simultaneously all over the country around 3pm !! However there was one day, a Tuesday I think, when I was sitting around at home doing nothing in particular and suddenly thought to myself “Do you know what ? I feel COLD !”
I tried to resist – because in “Neil’s Golden Rule Book Of Life” it is a SERIOUS offence to turn on one’s heating before the 1st October – but after a couple of hours that evening curled up n the sofa clutching a cushion for warmth, I was weak and on it went. Luckily, my house heats up pretty quickly and retains that heat for quite a while, so I got away with it by turning it off again after an hour or so before the Heat Police appeared at my door !!
I am pleased to say I haven’t lapsed since and with an other gorgeous weekend to savour under our belts, I am aiming now to hold out until the clocks go back in a couple of weeks time. Look out for more of those “lovely weather for soul music on your patio” type posts coming soon my Facebook page “The Old Gits Soul Show”. Now let’s check the weather for Monday between 7 & 9pm ….
