Neil Gits New Batteries

Being an “Old Git” it won’t surprise you to hear that I am not always terribly comfortable with modern technology and don’t easily embrace new innovations, but I have grown rather fond of my “Firestick” which was recommended to me last year by a friend and have enjoyed catching up on old TV shows & films that I had missed out on in recent months. Alas, back in December it suddenly stopped working after being affected by a major internet failure and I couldn’t do a thing with it, no matter what I tried and gave up on it until the same friend suggested I take it to her house and she would go through some vigorous tests on it. Now it’s back home and working perfectly – and guess what the problem was ? Yep, the remote needed new batteries ! In amidst the panic of it going down, I did try and change them but must have got the new and old ones mixed up ! DOH !

My own “batteries” have been re-charged lately too after a good start to 2019 and this week I have been catching up with all the fresh new tunes that have been sent to me, to see what will sit comfortably along side all the classic soul, jazz-funk & disco grooves from the 70s & 80s that I play each week. There are a lot of them too ! So this Monday expect to hear a bumper bundle of cool new soul tracks, plus of course plenty of the regular features and classics you would expect from 7pm LIVE on Gateway.
