Neil Gits A DAB Radio !

We are about halfway through our two month stint on DAB Radio in Essex here at Gateway, so if you haven’t had a chance to hear my weekly show that way, do give it a try before the end of December. If you listen in the car and your FM signal keeps breaking up or you listen online from farther afield in our county and don’t have Super / Mega / Ultra / Hyper Fast Broadband, it may be a good alternative way to enjoy two hours of the good stuff on a Monday or Saturday ! My latest selection of soul, jazz-funk & disco tunes from the 70s 80s & beyond will be on air today (Saturday) at 5pm (playlist below) and hopefully if it works well for you, it may be a permanent thing in the future …

Of course, being a confirmed “Old Git” I don’t own a DAB radio – or at least I didn’t until last week when our Danny found me a little baby one to try at home and see how it sounded where I live, which is just outside Gateway’s traditional ‘territory’ of Basildon & East Thurrock, along most of the Thames Gateway area (ah, so THAT’s where the name comes from … lol !) ! I had a look through the schedule and found a couple of other shows that might appeal to someone like me who enjoy not just soul music but good quality pop, just a slong as it is OLD ! “Totally 80s” and “Million Sellers” (with David ‘Diddy’ Hamilton who STILL sounds about 25 !) were two examples and of course I often mention “The UK Soul Chart” & “Digital Blues” with their soul-friendly content, plus of course if you tune in early for my live show on Mondays, the “Power Hour” always includes a few fab old disco faves – bend an ear to us this next month and see what you can discover too !
