Since moving into my current house, over 30 years ago now, I have got nearly all my shopping, every week, without fail at Asda as they were by far the nearest major supermarket to me and it really wasn’t worth driving out of town for one or two odd items. Now I have a huge Sainsburys which is almost as close and I am more mobile than I was a few years ago, regularly passing by various branches of Tesco & Morrisons, so I can (as Smokey Robinson sang yonks ago…) “Shop Around” more easily.
I have to say that my new favourite is rapidly becoming the big Tesco just off the A127 at Mayflower Retail Park and most weeks pop in there on the way to Gateway to pick up things that were out of stock at Asda or simply that “Tescy” (as A13 Annie calls them!) do better. In fact, this Monday, I bought so much extra stuff in there that after leaving the checkouts, one handle on my ‘Bag For Life’ snapped ! Luckily, I was right by a couple of “Tesco-ettes” who saw what happened and leapt to my rescue producing a new “re-incarnated bag” within seconds … and at no charge too !
