Neil Gits A Hole In One !

Aside from all my walk-taking, photo-snapping, football-watching and soul-listening activities during the week, I sometimes get a chance to do something a little different from the norm when I meet up with my son Nathan. Ten pin bowling, pool, FIFA22 on XBox and air-hockey, all played either before or after an indulgent meal at a popular chain pub/restaurant, are often our choices – and he usually beats me at ALL of them (though I did get a rare win bowling on Clacton Pier in the summer !)

Last weekend he moved into his new flat in preparation for his first year at University in Colchester, so to finally bring the curtain down on the “school era” he invited me and his mum to have a meal with him at Nandos at Bas Vegas, nothing new there for me, but amazingly it was her first ever time there ! She prefers “fine dining” judging by her endless photos of meals on Facebook, ironic really as she makes her money driving fast food fast food around those new delivery companies you often see advertized on TV !

Anyway, she didn’t stick around after the meal – someone in Billericay needed takeaway sushi urgently ! – so Nathan and I popped down the road to Mulligans for a round of their fun novelty indoor golf. I am a bit more successful at this than the other activites we enjoy together, so not only did I win this round, but I also got a “hole in one” with the first shot – a feat almost as rare as coming away from Monday show totally satisfied that everything went as smooth as possible !
