Neil Gits A Messy Duvet

13th October 2024
Posted by Neil Matthew

I’ve been sleeping really well lately, regularly getting woken up the acceptable way by my radio alarm clock as opposed to unbearable summer heat, unwanted early morning daylight or unappreciated neighbournood noise – and often all three at once ! A couple of weeks ago you could throw in excrutiating back pain too, as documented in a previous blog on here, now thankfully consigned to history …

Earlier this year I was also prone to waking up due to some bordeline nightmares, brought about by a rather worrying set of circumstances I had to deal with in the Spring, a situation which has now stabilized if not been fully resolved. Although the weather is much more conducive to a good night’s sleep now, we are all liable to experience realistic but unusual dreams at any time of year and mine are often very strange & rather curious !

Last week I woke up about an hour earlier than expected to find my duvet and sheets in a heck of a mess – I can’t recall now the exact details even though I am quite good at remembering my ‘best’ dreams for around 24 hours, but I did scribble down something about my son Nathan playing football in a bizarre location when he was a lot younger, witht the whole scenario taking place in the 80s around 20 years before he was even born ! The state of my bed suggested I was doing something very physical in it – possibly playing in goal for his team !!

My regular listeners, especially the ones who enjoy taking part in the “Soul Connection” feature will all testify that you wouldn’t want to get inside my head ! Usually the effects of any Sunday night bedroom experiences have well worn off by 7pm on a Monday and I am fully focussed on bringing you two hours of quality soul, jazz-funk & disco tunes to enjoy. Take a look at last week’s ones below and listen live tomorrow for the new bunch …
