Neil Gits A New Pen

Whilst doing the usual bits and bobs of “admin” at “Old Gits HQ” just now, my blue biro ran out of ink. Nothing newsworthy in that you may say to yourself, but as I went to my stationery drawer and obtained a new one, I had to open a brand new pack of ten pens, which is when it dawned on me that packet had laid untouched since February ! Normally, wearing my other hat as a quiz night host I would buy such a pack almost every other week for the teams taking part and for my own use in the office constantly scribbling down notes along the way during my many hours of prep for all the events. I then realized that I hadn’t bought any A4 paper nor any ink cartridges since 12 th March, which along with the pens (and small quiz prizes!) I would usually spend about £40 a month on !! And of course, where I routinely fill up my car with £50 of petrol a week, I have been barely using £20 a month !! That got the old brain stirring …

I have to confess that most of the “Big Things” that people concern themselves with in the current situation are way beyond my comprehension, my poor little head just can’t process it all, but the little things and smaller consequences it throws up are quite interesting to observe, though big or small, they very much take second place to the main purpose of my show which is to let you escape from it all for a couple of hours and enjoy some top quality soul, jazz-funk & disco goodies from the 70s 80s & beyond every Monday at 7pm !
