There are hardly any signs of “proper normality” returning to my life here at “Old Git Towers” although my son Nathan returned to football training today giving us the merest glimpse of light at the end of a very long tunnel and hope that our much loved football filled weekends might one day come back. Whilst he received praise for being way ahead of his team mates in fitness levels, at the other end of the scale my “TV Tummy” is coming along very nicely after four months now of watching around six hours telly a night, whilst scoffing endless amounts of chocolate & ice cream in the process … and I am still less than halfway through my extensive list of films, sitcoms, documentaries & drama series to catch up on.

“You need to get out more” is an often used expression aimed at someone with no social life, but in my case it could have been “You need to stay in more!” after years and years of hitting the pubs, clubs, bars and village halls as a DJ / Quizmaster, sometimes 5 or 6 nights a week. Goodness, the amount of classic programmes I’ve never seen on television is astounding !

But as I am sure you know, there’s no beating that special experience of listening to the radio, hearing an entertaining and informative presenter bringing you some brilliant music to enjoy, which is something I aspire to every Monday live at 7pm on Gateway.
