Neil Gits Five Decades Of Soul In

It won’t be breaking news to regular listeners, but every week I leave at least one, often two, songs off my intended playlist, usually because I like to play each track all the way through and not fade any out early, but also because I can waffle on a bit and lose a minute’s music time here and there !! 🙁  When planning this week’s show, I noticed that I had music from the 60s 70s 80s 90s & 00s scheduled – mostly from the 70s & 80s of course – and not only that but there were quite a few genres within the general “soul” field covered. Along with the staple diet of soul, jazz-funk & disco, I had a little bit of reggae, blues, r’n’b, northern & blue eyed soul all included, so I decided I would try REALLY hard and get EVERYTHING played ! I failed of course, but I only left one tune out and I DID get in something from each decade and genre, so why not have a listen to the repeat play on Gateway this evening (Saturday) at 5pm or maybe try the “Listen Again” facility (search the right date under ‘Cool Soul’) to hear how it all sounded in the end !
