Neil Gits His Winter Coat Out

It’s less than four weeks ago that I was walking round beautiful Arundel in Sussex wearing just a short sleeved polo shirt and jeans, with my sunglasses on my head ready to keep the dazzling sunshine out of my eyes. Ok it was a particularly warm day for October but my how things change ! This week has been mainly grey, wet and gloomy and I’ve now lost count of the days when I’ve had the heating on, whereas last month it was only three. So I decided it was time to dispatch my lightweight “Spring & Autumn” coat back to the wardrobe from the hooks in the hallway and replace it with my big thick black winter one, making sure there were a pair of woolly gloves in the pockets and a scarf draped over the hanger …

I don’t mind the cold (and it’s not really been THAT chilly – yet!) but when it seems to get dark only an hour after I’ve finished my lunch I find that rather depressing and have gone into “hibernation” with no road trips, football matches or photography missions likely now till New Year when we start getting longer daylight.
