Neil Gits Locked Inside !

When you’ve lived in one house for as long as I have, over time you get to tick off one by one all those moments of crisis, large or small, which can send you into panic mode, as an immediate remedy needs to be found. I’ve had two floods, one much more serious than the other but both emenating from the bathroom, a faulty kitchen tap, a leaking roof, a damaged fence, two broken cookers,one conked out washing machine and a couple of knackered tumble dryers off the top of my head …

Like most people I guess, I’ve also managed to lock myself out of my house, only once but quite spectacularly, when on leaving for a day out I found myself with a house fully locked & alarmed, not a door or window ajar, and with all the keys sitting in a locked car with the engine running wasting half a tank full of petrol while the AA came ot rescue me ! But this week, I somehow contrived to trap myself in rather than out, with all three house keys inside with me but no simple way of placing any of them into the locks on the outside … hmmmm

Luckily I get on really well with my neighbours, they’ve been there almost as long as I have on our street and they’ve seen me do all sorts of daft things or fail to achieve the simplest of tasks, all of which have required their kind assistance, so I was able to ring them up and soon one of them was on hand to pass a key through the window to and release me from my unintentionally self-imposed prison ! I have no idea how I did it and am hoping that I don’t do it again any time soon, but you never know …

You should always stick to doing what you know best in life and whilst my practical talents leave a lot to be desired, I am pretty confident when it comes to putting a two hour soul show playlist together.
