Neil Gits Locked Out

18th February 2023
Posted by Neil Matthew

I have lived in my house for well over 30 years now and I have to hold my hands up and admit that, perhaps just a little shamefully, one or two areas of it have remained completely unchanged since the day I took possession of the keys. Ah yes … the keys ! My front door lock was one of those areas and being the sort of person who always seems to find a way of ” jiggling it a bit ” to keep something working that really is really at death’s door, it hadn’t ever occurred to me to get it changed. That was until I found myself at my front door at 1.15am in sub zero temperatures and spent nearly ten minutes ” jiggling it a bit ” to get back in the warm !!

First thing Monday morning I got in touch with a trusted local locksmith and got ready to demonstrate to him my rather unconventional “technique” for entering the house. Luckily I left the front window open – just in case – because this time I simply could NOT open it at all – and neither could he ! Thankfully, he knew exactly how to remedy the situation and had the right parts on his van and half an hour later (after clambering through the window to return inside!) all was good as new and I had a shiny new door lock fitted with three shiny new keys in my hand, all of wich opened the door in less than a second. Much relief !

You’ll never find yourself locked out of my soul show, but I really do recommend that you get “locked in” as the younger generation might say ! Every week between 7 & 9pm we delve into the wonderful world of 70s & 80s soul – and then some ! – to bring you two thoroughly enjoyable hours of the good stuff, guaranteed to help ease pain of any stressful situation you might have found yourself in recently ….
