Neil Gits New Batteries

Everything comes in threes doesn’t it ? First of all my TV remote stopped working – no surprise there, I’ve hammered it over recent months ! – then the torch I use for hunting out stuff that’s fallen under the sofa or behind the telly gave up the ghost and finally my “voice recorder” refused to play ball as I tried to save yet another brilliant idea for a song for my show. Actually, I should have seen that one coming as too often I leave it recording in error and when I go to play the files back at home it reads ” 1) 10 seconds 2) 12 seconds 3) 9 seconds 4) 1 hour 23 minutes 16 seconds” !!! And of course, I HAVE had LOTS of fantastic ideas for my show lately … with three more pages of them stored by the PC at “Old Gits HQ” just waiting for their turn to be playlisted ! AA & AAA batteries were retrieved from the drawer and my life continued on full power…

Luckily there’s nothing I use in Studio 1 on a Monday night that requires batteries, everything takes its power from the mains one way or another, so you can rest assured that things won’t suddenly go silent on you, unless as happens occasionally at my age I press the wrong button or push the wrong fader ! And as always the music comes guaranteed to be top notch, mostly vintage jazz-funk, soul & disco tunes from the 70s & 80s, but with the odd curveball from the fringes of the scene.
