Neil Gits Pears !

In last week’s blog I told how an “unwanted visitor” had found it’s way up through the fake grass in my garden, a large mushroom forcing its head through the previously impenetrable artificial turf – this week my property has been attacked from above !

I was perfectly aware I had a couple of pear trees at the bottom of my garden ever since I moved in my house over 30 years ago and I recall gathering up the fruit in a box and leaving it out the front for passers-by and locals to help themselves to. One of the trees had to be removed several years ago in the process of a new strong fence being erected by my neighbours (who’d moved in with quite an array of pets and small children !) and I hadn’t noticed any pears since then, mainly due to the shocking state of my garden – see previous blog for details !!

In recent weeks I have been having to gather fallen pears from the other tree which have landed on my lawn in various states of distress ! One or two have landed in a nice cosy little area under the trees where a couple of local cats like to snooze in the shade during hot weather – I bet they got quite a shock if one descended on them while they were contentedly chilling ! Actually, I have seen “teeth marks” on some of the pears, so maybe they tried a little nibble too …

Anyway, I am on top of both “mushroom-gate” and “pear-gate” now, so on with getting to grips with prepping my next show, where the only “pairs” you’ll find are the “Dennis Double” and my “Soul Soother/Mellow Mover” segues … Check out the ‘Repeat Play’ at 7pm tonight (Saturday)
