Back at Xmas time last year, “A13 Annie” got me a present of a new duvet cover, sheet and pillow cases, all smothered with cute penguins ! It’s taken me till this week to get round to using it for the first time, so cosy was my previous one, having had some of my best deep undisturbed sleep for months inside it, that I was loathe to change it for a clean one until absolutely necessary. Tuesday was that day !
Despite it being perfectly comfortable, it came with a bit of baggage or so it appears from its first six nights of use – bizarre dreams !! I was really suffering at night over the last two years, trying to get a good night’s sleep without waking up in a panic, sometimes covered in sweat, as my previous issues took a stranglehold in the early hours of the morning, being woken by the most awful bad dreams and horrific nightmares. This time however my dreams have all been ‘nice ones’ – flashbacks to happier times, ‘mashed up’ recollections of recent good experiences and even inspiration for things I might like to do in the future weeks and months ahead.
None of them (yet!) have actually involved penguins though, but I am sure certain ones were accompanied by a soundtrack of soul, jazz-funk & disco tunes from the 70s & 80s, just like the music you can hear on my Gateway show each week !
