Neil Gits Red Eyes

Following on from last week’s blog, another week in front of the telly has thrown up some more issues. Whilst enjoying huge progress in catching up with various series I’ve been trying to get up to date with for ages and discovering loads of new shows I’d never seen, plus adding to my already long list of essential films to watch, these strange times have taken a toll on my eyes !

The first thing I do in the morning now …well, second thing actually, after washing my hands ! … is to apply eye drops to prepare for the day’s marathon session on the sofa, same again just before bed, when I look in the mirror and see these two big red rings round each eye. Strangely the left one seems to catch it worse than the right one …

Add in the fact that I still have to spend a certain amount of time on the PC doing basic admin, with or without any actual “work” in my life at present, not least preparing my next show and you can see that The Old Git’s poor peepers are taking a bit of a hammering. So, I make sure that I take regular breaks to do things like cooking, washing up, having a shower / shave and going to the toilet, all of which can be done whilst checking out soul tunes to play for you on Gateway – who says men can’t multi-task ?

Find out just what I have chosen to share with you from the good old days of the 70s 80s and beyond by tuning in this Saturday at 5pm on Gateway for the repeat play or head for “Listen Again” to check out this week’s selection at your leisure – and then look forward to the brand new show first heard on Monday at 7pm … Cool Soul and then some !
