There’s nothing more I need to say about last year except …. 2021 … DO ONE !!!
It’s very much fresh feet forward for “The Old Git” this year after a terribly traumatic last twelve months (and way beyond that too of course !) but I am bounding forwards full of optimimism and positivity, having resolved all my major issues and sorted out some big problems. After a long , painful process, slowed down to crawling pace by everything going on (or rather NOT!) in this country, I finally paid off my mortgage after 30 years plus and escaped the excrutiatingly frustrating benefits system I had to endure having been unable to work since early March 2020. I swear their “help” caused me more stress than it relieved in my situation !!
Anyway, the end result is that I am now blissfully and offcially retired from working life – truly the sign of a proper “Old Git” ! Presenting shows for Gateway doesn’t count as “work” , I enjoy it far too much and besides that I don’t get paid !! … lol … So I shall continue to pitch up in Studio One every Monday and bring you two hours of fantastic soul, jazz-funk & disco tunes from the 70s 80s & beyond, just like I have for the past 11 and a bit years, whatever else life throws at us – though a quiet peaceful year would be nice this time !
