If you know me well enough by now, you will not be surprised to hear that I have no plans whatsoever to partake in any “festive celebrations” over the next week or so … and certainly not this year of all years !! But even I have to ‘Be Prepared’ – the shops are a nightmare any December and I avoid them as best I can usually, but even though I have totally opted out from setting foot in them at all since July, I have still had to take this seasonal period into consideration.
I noticed about three weeks ago that my usual Monday “Click & Collect” slot had been booked up as had ALL others within a week of it, so I got super-organized and planned TWO WEEKS of food shopping to be collected last Monday and now my fridge, freezer and cupboards are full to overflowing with ready meals, frozen food, drinks, biscuits, chocolate and many other unhealthy but long lasting items so I won’t starve before 2021 arrives !
I am pretty much hiding away from this bonkers world now and don’t intend to resurface in public till at least December 28th – and only then if there are any gaps in my survival supplies that need topping up !
However, you can rest assured that I will be on air as usual every Monday, not only with a 100% “Festive Free” soulful playlist, but with no “end of year” specials either as there is definitely no cause to look back on 2020 with any hint of fondness !! So make a note in your diary, old or new, to tune in at 7pm on the 21st / 28th December & January 4th and so on to listen live to two hours of soul, jazz-funk & disco goodness from the 70s 80s & beyond … and join me in my ‘bunker’ hiding away from all the madness !
