I was glancing back through some of my ‘Cool Soul Blogs’ from the last year or so to try and get an impression of how a regular reader of them might view my existence. Trying to be objective,it would seem that the opinion you could form from these literary works of art is either a) He gets around a bit b) He observes a lot c) He has an eventful life or d) He is stupid !!! This week it is definitely the latter …
I somehow managed to get one of those tiny but annoying and painful cuts on my finger and as my fingers are on my hands and I use them a lot, I made the decision that instant action should be taken. Pleased with myself that I had a good supply of plasters in the cupboard and that one of them would be the perfect fit for this situation, I quickly peeled off the backing and placed it in just the right spot on my finger. For once having a plaster in place actually felt quite comfortable and I carried on as normal with my (stupid) life for about ten minutes until I noticed a little blood on my middle finger – yep, I’d stuck the plaster on the wrong finger, it was the one next to it I had injured !! Oh dear …
I share these episodes with you as I like to think we are all “Old Gits” together listening to my radio show each week and it is a distinct possibility that my listeners in their ageing years also do daft things like that, so it’s nice to hear somebody else confessing their stupidity in public ! The music is pretty good too and in this mad world we have found ourselves in, a couple of hours of vintage tuneage from the 70s & 80s soul scene and beyond can feel like an aural comfort blanket.
