Neil Gits To See Daffodils

In my last blog I was bemoaning the fact that I had been unable to get out for a good walk with my camera so far this year … and then Wednesday 25th February arrived ! It was easily the best day of 2026 so far, when it comes to the weather, and I made good use of it, taking an extended scenic route in and around Chelmsford for my latest regular trip to the city taking a nice selection of photos along the way.

I am not really a ‘nature’ person, despite all my various walks around the Essex countryside and beyond, but when I saw the first bunch of daffodils at the side of the road I had an idea and decided to re-visit some of my previously photographed landmarks in the area and take some shots of those with daffs in the foreground. Among the places I stopped off at were Oaklands Park & Chelmsford museum, the County Cricket Ground, Bell Mead alongside the River Can, near the shopping centres, and of course the Cathedral which offered me a superb shot in the sunshine & blue sky …
