Last week I was all about cats, this week it’s completely different creatures ! But before you get too excited and think I’ve been travelling abroad to somewhere exotic, swimming and having my photo taken with aquatic mammals, let me remind you that I spend nearly all my free leisure time going to football matches at various grounds all over the country and haven’t set foot out of the UK since my 2018 expedition to Berlin (for football !!!) And in any case … I can’t swim !

No, “The Dolphins” is the unusual nickname of Poole Town FC and I had a splendid day out last Saturday enjoying some late summer sunshine watching them play down on the South Coast, followed by a super portion of fish n chips down on the Quayside nearby – bliss ! I even saw the Red Arrows fly over the town in formation on their way to / from the Bournemouth Air Festival during the game. Luckily a player was injured at the time so we could all have a good look …. except the poor injured player !

Well, I think that now the opportunity is here, and the ineviatble post summer holidays Indian Summer is upon us, you just HAVE to take advantage and get out and about enjoying our wonderful country as much as possible – it was the glorious Peak District for me this weekend, watching The Gladiators in Matlock (not Rome!) but before I start boring you with details of that match, let’s get down to business and remind you of what tunes you can expect to hear if you haven’t yet caught up with my latest “Old Gits Soul Show” on Gateway. Head to “Listen Again” ASAP and catch this terrific selection of soul, jazz-funk & disco goodness …
