Gosh, have I been a lazy Old Git this week ! I think only once since last Monday have I got out of bed before 10.00, it’s been pretty nippy outside (so I hear – I haven’t left the house since Monday either !!) and it is so warm and snug under my duvet that I have really struggled to find a good reason to abandon it and go downstairs !
That will change this Monday though, because it is ‘My Big Day’, not just “Old Gits Soul Show Day” but also the only other cause I have to venture outside my front door – to collect my food and other supplies from Asda’s Click & Collect service. If I remember correctly it was the only time since I started getting my shopping this way last summer that it has rained during my slot, but I don’t hang about there and neither me or my bags of goodies got very wet.
So what will this Monday bring ? Well, first of all, you are guaranteed to hear two hours of tip top soulful tunes between 7 & 9pm, mainly from the good old days of the 70s & 80s, possibly with a cut or two from the 60s or 90s as well, and usually interspersed with a small selection of 21st Century soul from artists keeping the traditional vlaues of “our music” alive. If you have never listened before (!) and want a taster of what to expect, take a listen to any of my last four shows at the “Listen Again” section here or tune in to Gateway 97.8FM from 5-7pm this evening (Saturday) to hear this weeks’ repeat play of the show. Listen in bed if you wish !!
