Neil Sees Pink Blossom

16th March 2024
Posted by Neil Matthew

It’s been a bit of an iffy start to the year in several ways, we definitely need some warmer weather, a bit more sunshine and some reasons to be cheerful as 2024 progresses. I got a little tiny peek of hope for the weeks ahead though when I opened my bedroom windows today and saw the first splash of pink had appeared on my otherwise bare and rather sad looking little tree in the front garden. Spring must be just around the corner – one of my top four favourite seasons of the year !!

I have next to no leanings towards gardening at all, so I couldn’t tell you what type of tree it is and I am not even totally sure that the pink stuff growing on it is called ‘blossom’ but it sounds right ! I probably venture into my back garden less than a dozen times a year – anybody want to buy it and build a small detached house there ?? I could use the money ! – and that is just to pull up anything that looks like it shouldn’t be appearing in the border next to my lush green fake lawn. However, I do know what daffodils look like and recall they tend to appear in one corner in Spring too, but there’s no sign of them yet …

Well, I might not have ‘green fingers’ but mine are very good at pressing buttons and pushing faders in the studio and they were working on top form this week as I hosted this week’s show. Take a listen to the ‘Repeat Play’ on air at 5pm today (Saturday) or try out the ‘Listen Again’ page at our website to hear this week’s soul, jazz-funk & disco selections … they look like this :
