Billericay Food & Drink Festival

21st July 2023
Posted by Ian Campfield

The Billericay Food & Drink Festival is back for a third year on Sunday 23 rd July from 11am to 5pm at the Billericay Town Football Club: one of the county’s premier grounds that recently hosted FIFA under 18 boys International and saw 1000s flock to see Jordan North present A Place on the Plane as part of Ant & Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway.

Now following on from last year’s successful event, despite it being the hottest day of the year, this fun family day is back and bigger than ever with more stands, more local entertainment and more freebies – just what we want this summer!

The idea to hold the event sprung from the great amount of local food and drink pop ups and innovative businesses that developed during the pandemic serving the local community with organisers Abby and Jodi Knight of Great Idea Events seeing a real opportunity to showcase all the local talent under one roof.

With around 1500 visitors enjoying the sunshine last summer, this year you can discover a world of locally sourced and produced food and drink plus meet the people behind some of our favourite eateries and local brands. There are over 50 stands including Field Of Cheese, Andrews Caribbean Catering, The Phoenix Smokery, Wrapstars Mexican tacos and wraps, Dori Bakes, Taste of Naples Pizza and Giggly Pig Hog Roast and sausages. Outside entertaining ideas come from Extra Events Essex and Sisters with Sparkle igloo hire.

Lava Spirts, The Only Way is Gin, Tipsy Grey, The Roasted Martini and Billericay Brewing Company are just a few of the many drink companies at the event, there will also be cocktails and prosecco to enjoy on the day.

Organisers Abby and Jodi wanted to keep all the businesses really local so guests can go on enjoying the produce and venues, including The Beauvoir Arms Italian Bar & Kitchen and Billericay Brewing and are pleased to announce local estate agents Stanton Hockett as main sponsor and thank the team at Billericay Town FC for its continued support.

Entertainment on the day will include popular Essex duo Generation: Amber Atkinson and Mike Yarrow, Rainbow Dayz face painter and a charity football match organised by Stanton Hockett supporting Prostate UK with half time entertainment from cheerleaders The Tilbury Majorettes. There will be lots of great giveaways on the day from our national suppliers: Love Corn, ZENB, Plantain Crisps and Pulsin protein coompany.
