Listen: Virtual Christmas parties

10th November 2020
Posted by Aston Avery

November usually signifies the mass panic of office management across the UK, scrabbling to organise some sort of ‘office appropriate’ Christmas shindig. However, this year many an HR manager may wipe their brow from Christmas party antics. This year will look somewhat different.

As the Christmas party season draws closer, many may be glad they don’t have to face the inevitable embarrassing moments that come with the traditional office party. Surveys show that nearly 1 in 4 (23%) Brits have kissed a colleague, 2 in 5 (39%) embarrassed themselves on the dancefloor and 1 in 7 (14%) have shouted at their boss.

During lockdown millions took online to host virtual pub quizzes with friends or to simply catch up with family members, coaching grandma on how to enable grid view on her out of date smart phone. This year became the year of the long-distance-relationship for practically the whole country.

Aston spoke to Cammy Esson & Gregor Sey both from Boozy Events to discuss more about the research and also they are on a mission to make sure we’re not missing out on the fun this festive season.
