Olympian Iwan Thomas on National Get Outside Day

25th September 2020

It’s something we’ve all been doing more of since lockdown – getting outside. Research commissioned by Ordnance Survey has found the average adult will walk almost 75,000 miles over their lifetime – the equivalent of walking around the world THREE times.

Typically we manage 6,839 steps a day…

As well as simply walking to get from A to B, each week those steps will also include two strolls and another two walks for exercise. But despite this, the average adult only manages the recommended 10,000 steps a day three times a week.

Aston spoke to Iwan Thomas, former Olympic sprinter who won silver as part of the 4 x 400 relay team at Altanta 96 to discuss what can do on National Get Outside Day this Sunday 27th September.
