The Covid-19 outbreak has dramatically advanced Britons’ adoption of tech in the home according to analysis of millions of words posted on Twitter.

Since March, conversations relating to Peloton bikes have increased 44%, Netflix by 23% and posts about the new video must-have, ring-lights, have surged by a whopping 109% as people turn to video conferencing to work, socialise and date.

The study by the Institution of Engineering and Technology looked at tweets posted across the UK over the last 12 months to better understand the frequency with which people are talking about technology and their attitudes towards it.

Aston spoke to Catherine Allen, BAFTA winner TEDx talk speaker, founder of Limina and Institution of Engineering and Technology spokesperson to discuss the findings in further detail.
