Posted by Laura Anderson

Laura Anderson was joined on the phone with Sophie Alderton from Leigh on Sea, to discuss the positive changes that have occurred within her Essex company Pholk Care during lockdown. With lockdown being a scary and lifechanging moment for some, Sophie saw this time to continue her business and services at Pholk Care.

“Pholk Care is a community based day service for adults with disabilities in South East Essex. We provide a range of activities to help build confidence, self-esteem, social skills and community inclusion.”

As part of Positives of the Pandemic, we spoke about the noticeable changes in service users attitude and their mental health “they were really anxious”  and how Pholk Care adapted their service to improve their lives for the better. Hear the interview here:

She states that the future of Pholk Care looks positive and bright “we have also grown by taking on some elderly clients” continuing to add about ‘boosting their confidence” and “taking them out”. Want to know more?
