Children’s hospital design a new face to improve communication

Despite the latest announcements for coming out of lockdown and lifting of restrictions, which includes masks no longer being a requirement, some of us won’t be getting rid of them straight away.

Masks will most likely stick around for a little longer, whether that’s because of people not being ready to go without or recommendations for wearing them in certain places or areas.

In fact, more than half (54%) of UK adults say it’s likely they will continue wearing face masks even when its not a requirement by law. 43% of Brits say they feel better protected in public places when people wear one, according to research by Bluetree Medical.

It’s fair to say masks have caused a few communication issues over the past year or so. Not being able to hear people properly, see their whole face, or even forgetting the other person can’t see you expressions.

Aston spoke to Jon Constantine-Smith, managing director at Bluetree Medical and Holly Brown from Alder Hey Children’s Hospital.
