Diversity’s Mitchell Craske on first time buying

It seems the pandemic has prompted many birds to return to the family nest over the last year as new figures released today from Halifax indicate that more than one in five (22 per cent) first-time buyers temporarily moved in with family or friends in or after March 2020.

The majority of those who have made a temporary move say the main aim has been to save money (49 per cent), followed by having the company of others (46 per cent).

It looks like the average length friends and family are going to have to put up with their lodgers is seven months in order to save the money needed for a deposit.

Aston spoke to Diversity dance member Mitchell Craske to discuss the research in further detail.
