Over the past four months, us Brits have been through more than almost any generation before. Coronavirus has affected each and every one of us in one way or another.

New research from The British Heart Foundation, the UK’s leading heart charity has revealed the extent of this impact, with Brits saying they now feel less healthy than before lockdown (30%), more stressed (37%), more anxious (42%) and less happy (34%).

Clearly, we must take action to remedy these feelings – and what better way to clear your mind than by taking some time out of your day for exercise? To help with this, BHF have launched the My Step Challenge, which hopes to see the public boost their fitness, smile more and raise some cash for a very good cause and – even better – literally anyone can take part.

This challenge, however, is easy for us all, having been designed with the help from BHF specialist nurses. Even if you have got a heart or circulatory condition, there’s something for you too.

Aston spoke to Barbara Kobson, cardiac nurse at The British Heart Foundation to provide some tips and tricks to help the nation get active.
