Listen: Tackling small tasks helps Brits regain control

Despite an explosion of home improvements and gardening, new research shows just how long Britons will put off small tasks for. The research by CASS (Current Account Switch Service) shows that the average person admits to putting off mowing the lawn for as long as 104 days and delaying cleaning their windows for up to 117 days.

Inside the home, Brits concede they have deferred tidying out the ‘junk/bits and bobs drawer’ for almost 150 days after they’d planned to. Financial tasks are the ones Britons put off the longest though, with checking the suitability of their bank account deferred for half a year (159 days).

Aston spoke to Jo Ainsley from CASS and consumer psychologist Kate Nightingale.
