A busy day in Basildon celebrating 2018 Armed Forces Day and all the forces do for this country.

The people of Basildon gathered to celebrate our forces watching a special parade through the town centre. The parade began at East Square, moving along the high street. Troops, cadets and scouts all took part in full uniform on the hot, sunny day. Celebrations took place across the whole country, with the Prime Minister visiting a parade too.
The celebratory flag was raised at Basildon Council on Monday, Over 130,000 young people are cadets in the UK – with many in Basildon. Army, police and air cadets all took part in Basildon ceremonies. Some Gateway Radio Club members are in their local cadet groups
