Appeal for witnesses following Basildon stabbing

Essex Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed a stabbing in Basildon which has left a teenage boy needing hospital treatment.

It was reported the boy, who is 13, was found injured in the Southwark Path area at 12.50pm today (Wednesday 8 April).

The police attended and found the boy with a stab wound to his stomach. He has been taken to hospital in London for treatment.

It is believed the boy had been riding his bike in the area before the assault took place and we need anyone who believes they saw him in the moments leading up to it to come forward.
