Basildon Choral has released the following statement:
It is with great regret that we write to inform you of Basildon Choral’s decision to cancel our forthcoming concert, a ‘Come and Sing’ performance of Handel’s Messiah that was to have taken place at St Martin’s Church, Basildon, on May 2nd.
As a result of the latest advice from the government our committee made this decision with the health and welfare of members both of the choir and audience as well as the orchestra and soloists in mind.
Our rehearsals are also cancelled until further notice.
Hoping to join together again in music before too long.
(We would like to stage this concert in the Autumn and will update you once our programme is finalised.)
