Basildon Pride Festival is almost here

Basildon Pride is coming, next Saturday 4th September and they’re delighted to bring this event to our town after a very difficult 18 months.

The parade will set off from the old Toy’s ‘R’ Us building at 11am before gliding colourfully through the heart of Basildon Town Centre, across Broadmayne and into Gloucester Park before reaching the Festival site. Those who wish to take part should arrive at 10:15am to start forming up.

The fun filled festival at the Basildon Sporting Village has something for everyone with 2 stages providing entertainment all day, the very own Pride Market Place sponsored by Palmers Solicitors and fairground rides and attractions.

The Eastgate Centre Stage is set in an amazing big top and will feature fabulous acts from tributes to side-splitting drag artists whilst the Family Stage will provide a great day out for kids of all ages.

Over at the Gateway Food Court, festival goers will be able to enjoy delicious cuisine and snacks whilst being entertained by Gateway 97.8.

Getting to the festival could not be easier this year with the new Pride Bus operated by First Essex, running a free service from the Town Centre Bus Station to the festival site every 20 minutes.

Finally festival goers can finish off at the Official After Party at Mr Mulligan’s at Festival Leisure Park, where for £15 they will be entertained by 3 fantastic acts, be able to play unlimited crazy golf and dance the night away to some top tunes.

They recommend that all those attending review the COVID-19 safety instructions on the website including taking a Lateral Flow Test before turning coming to the event.

This free event is open to all as we celebrate the LGBT+ community.
