Basildon woman arrested for officer assaults

A woman has been arrested following reports she assaulted officers responding to a domestic incident in Basildon yesterday, Monday 4 May.

Essex Police were called about a disturbance at an address in Poppy Gardens at around 3.40pm before attending the property.

Two officers reported they were then bitten by a 27-year-old woman who was arrested on suspicion of assault by beating of emergency workers. 

Officers reported they were also abused by the woman and that one our police cars was damaged. 

She was further arrested on suspicion of criminal damage and racially threatening behaviour and remains in custody.
