The Conservative Party have retained their majority on Basildon Council in the 2022 local elections.

With low turnouts across the board, Basildon voted the Tories back in control.

Labour took a hit in Basildon, with their leader Jack Ferguson losing his seat in Pitsea.

This gain by the Conservatives follows an Independent gain in Langdon Hills.

The council will meet in the coming weeks to decide who will lead the council and be the mayor for the year ahead.
